Here is a pair of earrings I made using some pieces from the Western Pacific Railroad china. I just love the feather pattern and think the earrings show well!

The "LOVE" Necklace

The story of the Love Necklace...

Making custom jewelry is my passion. One day while going back through my records to make sure I was current with orders, I realized that I was to make a charm for a chain for someone with the word "LOVE" on it. When I checked with the customer to find out if she was still interested, she most definitely was.

So what started out as a simple charm on a chain turned into "The LOVE Necklace Extraordinaire"! She decided she wanted charms with her grandchildren's names to stack with the Love charm. Then she decided she also wanted a couple more with her children's names. Well, that changed the whole design since I thought that would not look that good all bunched up together.

She wanted some black beads and some silver chain along with the charms. This is what I came up with. The backside of the charms feature their date of birth, too. The black disc beads are rainbow obsidian and the long black beads are agate.

Enjoying some cooler weather and busy in the shop!

Working on some new designs and just having a good time! Cooler weather always makes for more fun in the shop - windows open and doors, too. Love working up the old railroad dining car china and some of my stashed beautiful old American mined turquoise!

Here is a sample of some of my latest pieces. Orange and purple spiney oyster shell from off the coast of Ecuador, which I set into a couple of pendants and a ring. Also, a lovely piece of Nevada Rhodonite (lapidary by Lost Sierra), which I set into a pendant. Loving on the colorsplash! More to come.....

New Round

Started a new round of adornments preparing for my big show on the 28th. The lobby of the beautiful Morton Meyerson Symphony Center in Dallas will be the setting.  Here is Act 1 consisting of Spiney Oyster shell and turquoise.

We are still experiencing extreme heat with it seems like a gazillion consecutive days of over 100 degrees, but you can't keep a metalsmith down...so I am out in my little studio working away.

so the nation is in turmoil and the heat wave still lingers for most of us!

Lots of things going on around here and keeping busy! This is good for sure.

Made a couple pair of earrings the other day. Mango shell from Peru and a pair of beautiful sugilite and natural coral earrings.

What do you think?

Doing a private party this weekend and looking forward to some fun with some dear friends!

New Creations

Trying to work up some new ideas for some new pieces. Sometimes I get lost in thought. I'm most definitely looking forward to the temperature lowering a little. It's just been too hot to work in the shop even with the a/c going. It just can't keep up.

So, I finally got some of the bugs worked out in the software I use for my website and have spent the last couple of days adding some pieces to my website. When it's too hot to hit the shop, I spend lots of time making bead jewelry. Here are some.

HOT HOT HOT - Going to the Dogs!

Yes, it's hot here in the Big D! Hard to get out in my "studio" this time of year. My little A/c just doesn't work that well when the temps are over 100 degrees. But I manage to get in there a little here and there. Waiting for it to cool off enough to go and make a dog tag for Raggs! Yes, Raggs is getting a custom sterling silver tag for his little collar. He is going to be so cute with it on. I'll have to request a photo of him with it on so everyone can see it.  So better get out there and get it made so I can ship it out. Hopefully, I can get a couple of other things started while I'm out there.

And speaking of dogs, here is a piece from my "Dog Gone ??" series. This pendant features the head of a Bull Dog, which is a vintage pewter piece. The gentleman I bought it from told me it was used in costume jewelry in the 50's. The heads had a little screw on the back and was on a ring. You could unscrew the head and change out the dog face. Of course, I couldn't just buy one....no, I bought all he had. So if you think you might want one, just let me know. I do not have all breeds, but have a good selection.

This one features some of my hand stamped artistry and the words "Dog Gone Cute". It is strung on sodalite beads.

Chaplets With Vintage Medals and Crucifixes

Seems like I have been making these Chaplets for more than ten years now and I still get much enjoyment from making them. I love picking through all of my Religious Medals, Crosses and Crucifixes and combining them with different semi-precious gemstone beads and shell beads. They have such a great feel in your hand and I put lots of love and positive energy into each and every one of them. Here is a photo of my latest batch.

These Chaplets make great gift ideas for that special someone for that special occasion. If you are interested in purchasing one, please let me know. I am a bit behind on updating my website. Had some technical problems that seem now to have been corrected. There are a few on there now. Purchase Chaplets Here and Other Things

Rock Crazy

Yes, I guess you can say I am somewhat rock crazy. It started many years ago as a child. Over the years, I have collected many.  This one being one of my most favorite. Someday I will slab it and cab it.

It came from the Earth and will one day be a part of a piece(s) of jewelry that I will create - that is, as long as the Creator gives me the strength to continue my mission.

"Get Back To Earth Jewelry" is my campaign slogan in an attempt to try to get people back to real rock jewelry. I love creating pieces of silver jewelry using genuine, natural and beautiful stones. That doesn't mean I do not like working with other mediums, but prefer pure rock!

Anyways, I hope you come to visit my blog from time to time!
